There’s never been a better time to make sure you’re doing everything you can to give your child a healthier, more attractive smile.

Specialist orthodontists can now help to align your child’s teeth in a quicker, more subtle way than ever before.

At Metamorphosis Orthodontics, we can tell you if your child needs treatment and we can talk you through the best teeth straightening options for children.

So what are the best teeth correction options for kids?

There are now a number of teeth straightening devices to choose from:

1. Fixed braces:

Made with strong, durable metal brackets - attached to the teeth and connected by wire.

Fixed orthodontic braces

2. Removable braces:

Simply click onto the teeth and can be removed when necessary.

How do I know if my child needs braces?

There can be a number of tell-tale warning signs that your child may need orthodontic treatment - including crowded or misplaced teeth, missing teeth or thumb sucking - so if in doubt, make an appointment.

At what age should I take my child to see the orthodontist?

At the age of seven or eight we can make a detailed examination of your child’s teeth and gums and prepare for treatment when they get a bit older so it’s important not to leave it too late. This gives us the best chance of detecting and getting to grips with potential problems early.

Everyone’s growth pattern is unique but it’s important to give your child options because some patients benefit from starting treatment at an early age while, for others, it’s best to wait until the age of 12 or 13.
