Invisalign Braces FAQs

WILL MY INVISALIGN ALIGNERS BE VISIBLE?

The Invisalign aligners are made of a transparent plastic material that is virtually invisible. Unless someone is looking closely at your mouth, your aligners will not be noticed.

HOW LONG WILL MY INVISALIGN TREATMENT LAST?

The duration of your treatment will depend greatly on the severity of your case, however it should not last more than a few months.

HOW LONG WILL I NEED TO WEAR MY ALIGNER EACH DAY?

For best and quickest results, it is recommended to wear your Invisalign aligners 20 to 22 hours per day, and remove them just for eating and brushing your teeth.

HOW OFTEN WILL I NEED TO VISIT THE CLINIC DURING MY TREATMENT?

We will schedule appointments every four to six weeks to monitor the progress of your treatment.

WILL THE TREATMENT BE PAINFUL?

Invisalign straightens your teeth without the pain usually associated with traditional metal braces. However, some patients feel some discomfort temporarily at the beginning of each new stage of the treatment. This discomfort will not last more than a couple of days.

WILL I NEED TO STOP EATING CERTAIN FOODS DURING MY TREATMENT?

You will be able to eat and drink whatever food you like while undergoing your treatment, as you will be required to remove your Invisalign aligners when eating and drinking.

WILL THE RETAINERS AFFECT MY SPEECH?

It may take you a couple of days to get used to speaking with your aligners, but once you do, you should be able to talk normally.

CAN I SMOKE WHILE WEARING MY INVISALIGN ALIGNERS?

It is not recommended to smoke while you are wearing your aligners because this may stain them. It is therefore recommended to remove your aligners while smoking.
