First Things First...
Your orthodontic consultation takes place at our stylish premises in the Kings Road in Parsons Green.
During your initial consultation which will take approximately 30 minutes we will create a completely tailor-made orthodontic treatment plan for you.
Paying particular attention to your expectations and needs, we use this session to listen carefully to your thoughts and hopes and how you want to look and feel when the treatment is completed and your teeth are transformed.
At this stage we assess your problems, review dental development, your oral hygiene routine and the optimum time to start treatment. A brace will not be fitted at this session.
After observing the condition of your teeth, gums and supporting bones to determine the potential for improving your smile and dental health, we will discuss the options with you.
We will explain the different orthodontic treatments, from low friction Damon Braces for quicker treatment times and less visits or Invisalign, a clear invisibrace which makes treatment almost undetectable. Once the most suitable treatment has been agreed we will inform you of what your specific treatment will involve and its approximate cost. We will also encourage you to ask questions about any aspect of your proposed treatment.
Patients who are not ready to start treatment will be reviewed at a later date. For those who are ready to start immediately, we will make an appointment to take dental records which includes dental study models, photographs and possibly some X Rays.
How to look after your Oral Health
Hopefully you are already aware that oral hygiene is important, however a regular and meticulous oral hygiene routine becomes doubly important when wearing braces.
Brush your teeth regularly:
Whilst wearing a brace it is necessary to brush you teeth at least four times a day after every meal.
To do this make sure you take toothpaste to work or to school with you. If you do not develop this routine, the enamel will be permanently stained and damaged in places exposed to attack by food and plaque acids.
Even if you have a removable brace it is necessary to brush your teeth after meals to prevent the build-up of destructive plaque.
Without a high standard of hygiene during your Orthodontic treatment, damage to your teeth and gums can occur within a few hours as a result of a build up of plaque and/or food.

How to Brush
Use a fluoride based toothpaste and a soft, rounded-bristle toothbrush.
Brush your teeth and brace the way your orthodontist and staff members instruct you for two minutes.
Brush around all the parts of your braces and every surface of your teeth. Remember to brush the backsides of your teeth and be sure to brush your tongue.
Brush your gums gently and thoroughly.
Rinse thoroughly after brushing.
Inspect your teeth and braces carefully to make sure they are spotless.
Replace your brush as soon as it shows signs of wear.
